What is CityNews?
CityNews module is a part of the CityHub system that allows citizens to be directly notified about current events within a specific zone (city, village, county, region). Module enables companies and divisions within the city administration to send notifications using the system, in multimedia format to the device of the users currently located in the specified area.
What kind of informations can the citizens receive?
City administration, or divisions or companies controlled by the city administration, can use the system to send informations on any relevant events. For example, power outage due to power grid service, road block due to road or street reconstruction, etc. Notifications can also be about interesting and amusing events (concerts, theatre shows, public fairs, etc.)
Notifications arrive to smartphones using push service, where the smartphone displays the title and short text directly on the screen. Notifications stay tied to the city that sent them and are permanently stored in the CityHub app.
CityNews module also allows users to browse news from other cities in the CityHub network. With this option, users can check in advance wether there are any relevant informations that would concern them when traveling to that city or county.
